Get Inspired for Xerocon Brisbane 2018

Brisbane will play host to more than 3,000 accountants and bookkeepers all around Asia Pacific to participate in two full days of learning from world-class speakers, an exhibition floor of more than 75 Xero integrated apps and strategic partners, and endless networking opportunities all around the Xero community.

Since 2016, when we launched our integration with Xero, we’ve attended each and every Xerocon event, and we’ll return once again this year, ready to meet our customers and partners in Brisbane and London.

And you should know, Xerocon Brisbane is no ordinary conference. It’s the world’s most beautiful and innovative event for cloud accounting leaders in Australia, NZ, and Asia. It’s a gathering of the best minds in the accounting community, and we’re very excited about our journey Down Under this September.

With that in mind, we wanted to share some of the things that have already caught our eye.

Here are the top 3 things we’re personally excited about:

1. A chance to do business at a human level

This year’s keynote speakers have been selected to educate and inspire, and to think about the way to do business at a very human level.

We strongly support that view, and we know that, in small business, every win and challenge is unique. Therefore, even the smartest technology, and the most efficient processes and important interactions must put people at the centre – and not the other way around.

And because of that, our love for Xerocon has grown tenfold. It’s a synonym for human interactions itself.

2. The best and brightest in accounting technology are speaking

Xerocon Brisbane 2018 will be huge (as usual). Don’t believe us? Check the schedule.

Here are just some of the topics and speakers we’re most looking forward to hearing from, and why:

Recommending the Right Apps for Your Clients

Automation is threatening to disrupt traditional accounting and bookkeeping. Xero is empowering advisory service providers with the right tools (such as ApprovalMax) and detailed insights to help them become the advisors of the future. This session will help those of you who are keen to get started, but need a little nudge in the right direction.

Choose Your Struggle: Finding Happiness by Focusing on What Matters

Led by blogger and author Mark Manson, this session promises a “raw, hilarious, and inspiring keynote that cuts to the core of what it means to be happy and fulfilled.” Honest, funny, and refreshing, we have a feeling Mark’s not-to-be-missed keynote might steal the show.

Supporting Not-for-profits

Do you support Not-for-profit clients? Have you wondered if you can do it better with Xero? Then this session’s for you. We’ve already touched upon some of the challenges faced by NFPs in a recent blog post. This session goes one step further, covering some of the most valuable tips and tricks for using Xero to run a not-for-profit, and how the platform can help meet the necessary NFP reporting requirements in both New Zealand and Australia.

Looking to the Future

Recently appointed CEO of Xero, Steve Vamos, will take to the stage to discuss keeping things human, especially when it comes to accountants, bookkeepers, and small businesses. Learn how Xero intends to continue the development of technology that’ll act more human and less machine.

Rod Drury, Founder and Non-Executive Director at Xero

It wouldn’t be Xerocon if we didn’t hear from Xero’s founder, Rod Drury. He’s set to explain where the industry is headed, what developments are on the horizon, and his vision for the future.

3. Meeting the community: The exhibition hall & ApprovalMax booth

The benefit of attending Xerocon is not just the amazing speakers and the breakout sessions. It’s getting to meet all of the great app partners, and learning how they can work with your accountancy firm and clients.

All of these human interactions we mentioned above are made possible thanks to Xero. They have brought together an incredible community to help and support businesses.

Just take a look at the list of exhibitors.

There are now over 700 add-ons for Xero, and counting. You can only imagine how big this growing family will become. Everyone is connecting and communicating with a similar goal: to help each other grow, and to make business that little bit easier.

This year we’ll share our own vision on how to deliver a simpler and faster way for businesses to manage approvals moving away from paper.

Come to visit us!

When: Wednesday, 5 September from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Thursday, 6 September from 8:00 AM to 6:15 PM.

Bonus: Must-read thoughts and advice from our partners

In Summary

Last year, thousands of accountants, bookkeepers, ecosystem partners and industry leaders from over 30 countries gathered to meet one another, explore what’s next for the industry, and define their place in the change.

This year, it’s set to be bigger than ever, and we hope to spend our the time with the community to the fullest.

We’re looking forward to September with a great deal of excitement, and during these 2 months of preparation we’ll delve into hot topics such as App Advisory in detail, publish interviews, and continue to highlight the event itself.

Stay tuned!
